Auto Delete changed to 28 Days

We have just updated our code that controls the auto-delete of listings.  The reason we do this is to ensure there are no stale listings left sitting on our database which is something other websites do in order to improve rankings.  They have no idea of the frustration this causes users when they click on a link only to find the listings is no longer available and/or it has long since been tenanted.

All our listings Expire every 28 days and now you have a further 28 days in order to renew your listing after which they are automatically deleted.  This has been reduced from 50 days as we are ending up with too many listings just sitting on our database that are not renewed.

Tenanted Investment category added

We have just added a new category called Tenanted Investment.

This is for any type of listing that is fully tenanted and offered for sale.

You can find them under the OTHER section.

Data Sort options now added

Very soon the number of listings on Findspace should double as three large Real Estate agencies will be feeding their data through to us.

Although we feel the SpaceFinder search tool can pretty will cover most bases, we have been asked for the option to sort the data once defined.

We have now added the ability to sort all data by:

  • Sale Only
  • Lease Only
  • Latest Listings First
  • Recently Updated
  • Lowest Lease Price (based on m2)
  • Highest Lease Price (based on m2)
  • Smallest Floor Area (based on total floor area)
  • Largest Floor Area (based on total floor area)
You will find these sort options by clicking on any of the the five main sections and when viewing the results of a Search.

Function Space now added to Findspace

We have recently added a new category to Findspace called Function Space.  This can be used by anyone who has available function/conference/entertainment space available.

Findspace launches new Data Quality Score

A common complaint we hear from our clients (those people looking for Commercial Real Estate) is the insufficient information provided with listings.  Some Vendors seem to take great delight in providing the minimum amount of data and still expect potential customers to contact them.

Well to make it more obvious to Vendors where they are falling short in providing sufficient data we have introduced a new Data Quality Score.

Vendors can find the score under their Dashboard, just login to your account.

The criteria used to calculate the score is as follows:

As you can see Displaying Price is weighted heavier than other items.  This is to highlight how important our users value being able to see a price displayed.  The Area and Long Description points can only be obtained with Paid Listings.

The Data Quality Score will be used to rank listings at a later date on the basis that Paid Listings will always get ranked highest and then by Data Quality Score so the higher the score the higher up your listing will appear on our site.

Another option added around the Display of Price is on our SpaceFinder search tool.  Users can now elect to focus on only listings that display a price.

    Findspace adds new Price options

We have just added two new price options within Findspace.

    • Price Range
    • Display Price

The Price Range option lets you add a range to your pricing.  This means for both Sale and Lease listings you can enter a minimum and maximum price, subject to negotiation.

The second allows you to Hide the Price.  This has been requested by a number of users and against our better judgement we have added it.  However, we recommend to all user that those listings that Display a Price get a better response than those which don’t.

We will shortly be adding a Data Quality Score which will automatically promote those listings with a priced displayed in preference to those with no price displayed.

Even though the price is hidden it is still been captured so if you are searching by price the listings will be returned in the search results, which beggars the question, why hide the price if you can work out what it is when searching by price?

    Cost per Carpark now added

We have now added a field to record the weekly cost per car park.  This will be displayed alongside the number of car parks when viewing a listing.

    Changes to Area Types

Following feedback from some Real Estate agents we have made some major changes to how we capture the area of your property.  Before we just had Floor Area and Land Area and it was a bit confusing which one to use.

Now you can break a property down into its area components such as office; retail; warehouse; mezzanine; showroom; storage etc.  Just fill in the appropriate values in the respective fields and Total Area is calculated for you.

    Area Sizes

    Area Sizes

Total Area is  used to give us our m2 value on the listing.
